Continuing Professional Development Courses

Curriculum Studies based staff have designed and delivered CPD and non-award bearing in-service courses for teachers and head teachers in partnership with education authorities for a number of years and they are currently engaged in doing so. Authorities with whom partnerships have been made are Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen City, the Shetland Island Council, the Orkney Island Council and the Western Island Council.

Courses designed and delivered include:

• Developing a School Policy Statement for 5-14 RME
• Developing a Progression of Themes for 5-14 RME
• Learning and Teaching About Other World Religions in 5-14 RME
• Creating a P7/S1 5-14 RME 'link' course.

Staff under contract to education authorities and working collaboratively with school-based colleagues, have also undertaken the development of curricular materials for 5-14 RME and courses in RMPS.
