| Back to Homepage | Graduate | Specialist Areas |

Technological Education is an exciting and diverse area of the curriculum.  Centred around creative technological processes and based on a “learning by doing” philosophy, it encompasses specific subjects such as:

  • Craft & Design
  • Product Design
  • Graphic Communication
  • Technological Studies
  • Practical Craft Skills

Graduates wishing to teach Technological Education should ideally have a breadth of experience covering both design/graphics and technology/engineering related subjects.

It is not possible to specify a definitive list of suitable degrees but the following degree specialisms are common:

  • Product Design
  • Industrial Design
  • Interior Design (BSc)
  • Engineering Design
  • Architecture
  • Architectural Technology
  • Mechatronics
  • Specific Engineering Disciplines (subject to scrutiny of course content)

If you think your degree might be suitable please get in touch.  If your degree content lacks one of the key areas you may be able to do some top-up courses before embarking on the PGDE programme.
