Research Office

The Research Office has been established to strengthen the research infrastructure of the School of Education and to provide administrative support for all research related activity in the School, including the School Research Committee.  The Research Office will be responsible for the following:

• Answering staff queries relating to research activity and research funding.
• Dealing with general external requests for research information.
• Providing advice and circulating information on research funding, both internally and externally, working closely with colleagues in Research and Innovation and Research Financial Services.
• Processing and administering applications for internal School funding and monitoring spend.
• Maintaining databases of research grant proposals and submissions, successful applications, research interests and expertise, and publications.
• Coordinating the School Ethical Approval process, ensuring applications are assessed and approved.
• Coordinating the School Research Leave process, ensuring that applications meet the agreed criteria.
• Organising research seminars, workshops, conferences and other related events, including research support/training events.
• Providing support for visiting research scholars and research students
• Organising training events for staff.
• Preparing and coordinating documentation for the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
