Powerful Literacies

New literacies practices are emerging as communication and information technologies pervade all aspects of contemporary society.  This innovative postgraduate course will explore the nature of literacies in a digital age and consider the implications of working within the changing communication landscape for professionals in a range of contexts.  The course will enable participants to engage with current debates about literacies and learning and understand alternative conceptions of knowledge, work and education.

It will be suitable for professionals who wish to practice at the cutting edge of their profession, developing their use of new technologies to support learning and development.  It will be of interest to those working in youth work, adult literacies, adult learning and community development as well as those in other sectors of education.
