BA Honours in Community Learning & Development

Course Leaflet

The University of Aberdeen, in partnership with local Community Learning and Development. It has received approval from the CLD Standards Council, the professional body for Community Learning and Development. The Programme will begin in September and will be a workplace based route to the professional qualification. Participants will study at the same time as being employed or working on a voluntary basis.

Who is the Programme Intended for?

It will be suitable for participants who wish to gain the professional qualification. It will interest those working in youth work, adult learning and community development from a wide range of backgrounds, including community work, housing, planning and other community linked professions.

Entry Requirements

Participants will come from a wide range of backgrounds and will be experienced in the field. They will be able to meet the demands of study at undergraduate level. Participants will be working or volunteering for 17+ hours per week. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed and will have the opportunity to discuss how their qualifications and experience meet the entry requirements.

The programme is also linked to and provides progression from the HNC Working With Communities at Aberdeen College.

Duration

The programme is designed to be flexible to individual circumstances. The demands of the programme take into account that some participants will be working full time.

Delivery Arrangements

The programme is offered through blended learning. This includes study blocks of 2 or 3 days and ICT is used to support peer learning. The importance of on-line learning will require students to have access to either work based or home based computing/internet facilities.

Cost (correct at time of publising)

The Cost of the programme is £225 per 15 credits. Each academic level consists of 120 credits.
