The BA Honours in Curative Education is offered in partnership between Aberdeen University and the Camphill Rudolf Steiner Schools (CRSS) in Aberdeen and other participating communities/organisations. Most students are volunteer co-workers in Camphill Communities, while a small number are employed by the communities or other organisations.

This is a full-time programme structured over five years and four months. Delivery of Stages 1 and II is by weekly teaching sessions and tutor support. Stages III and IV are delivered in 3-5 day workshiops with web-based material and tutor support.

Students have the option of exiting with Certificate, Diploma, Ordinary or Honours Degree in Curative Education. The degree and its associated awards are accepted by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as professionally recognised qualifications for workers in the care sector.

Course Leaflet

The Programme is informed by the philosophical principles of Rudolf Steiner adopting the holistic view of the human being as a biological, social, psychological and spiritual entity. The Programme integrates theoretical input with practical experience in the Curative Education areas of care, education, therapeutic activities and crafts.

Being located within residential therapeutic settings, the Programme offers a unique opportunity to combine the development of cognitive, affective, personal and practical skills. The community orientation provides close, continuous supervision of work at all levels and facilitates the concurrent acquisition of theoretical insights, practical skills and personal growth. For further details and/or an application form, please contact:
