ICT Learning Support Assistant
Job Description
Responsible to: Senior School Administrative Officer
Job Purpose: To support students and staff of the School of Education in their use of communications and information technologies and related software in pursuit of their studies/work.
Duties:
- When requested by lecturers, provide planned support to students within ICT classes and during related resource based activities;
- Provide ad hoc support for staff and students who have ICT queries or additional ICT requirements relating to their learning and teaching;
- Work with lecturers to ensure that appropriate ICT support (resources) are made available as required for classes, staff and students;
- Ensure that learning and teaching areas within the Computer Education area of the School of Education are maintained in a proper manner with regard to: student and staff needs; available software licences and other legal considerations; and in manner fit for purpose with regard to hardware, software, documentation, and other resources. This will be achieved by working closely with other support staff;
- To advise the ICT Coordinator of any deficiencies within the resource provision of the Computer Education learning and teaching areas of the School of Education;
- Provide ICT courses for groups of students and staff on a planned and ad hoc basis;
- When time permits materials to match ICT courses and training needs may be produced.
