Chartered Teacher Partners
'The real world demands collaboration, the collective solving of problems. Our close collaboration and dynamic partnership overcomes any potential divide between the University's theoretical and academic excellence and the practical and experiential contribution of schools'
Local Authority CPD Support Officer.
The principle of meaningful partnership working shapes all that we do in the School of Education. The core team meets regularly with teachers and partners in our Partnership Forum to discuss the programme, draft proposals and take on matters of particular interest to individuals or authority partners.
The Chartered Teacher Programme is offered by an active partnership with the following members:
- University of Aberdeen (Lead Partner)
- Aberdeen City Council
- Aberdeenshire Council
- Angus Council
- Highland Council
- Moray Council
- Orkney Council
- Perth and Kinross Council
- Shetland Council
- Western Isles Council
Course participants are also key partners in the programme. Through student consultations we learn from dialogue with practicing teachers. This allows us to offer a programme where the central and underpinning principle is the learning of children and young people in order to prepare them for the changing nature of modern society.
