Welcome to the Chartered Teacher Programme website at the School of Education. The Chartered Teacher Programme at the University of Aberdeen has been designed to help practitioners demonstrate their achievement of the Standard for Chartered Teacher in an innovative and challenging way. The School of Education, together with a range of partners, is committed to ensuring that Programme participants will be able to contribute consistently to high quality learning and teaching and to adopt a central position in professional dialogue concerning pedagogy, change and the curriculum. The focus of the programme is on collaboration, dialogue, change focused action and critical enquiry.
Since the inception of the award of Chartered Teacher we have listened to the views of our participants, discussing with them their professional learning, our programme and future developments. As a result of this professional dialogue we have revised our programme, making it possible to progress through the various stages on the route to Chartered Teacher more rapidly and ensuring that participants are supported fully at each step.
