Admission Details

The programme is open to applicants from any care/education setting who meet the entry requirements.   

General Entry Requirements

The programme from year 1 is open to applicants over the age of 19 years who satisfy the following conditions:

1. Applicants will be expected to have:  

  • normally worked in a relevant setting with individuals and/or families for a minimum of one year 
  • the ability to engage in online learning (effective word processing and email skills as a minimum requirement)
  • demonstrated the potential to undertake a programme of study at this level.

2.   Applicants whose first language is not English are required to have successfully completed the IELTS test at level 6 in all four sections or equivalent.

3.  Applicants are required to provide two references commenting on their suitability for work with individuals in a care/educational setting and their ability to study at this level.

4. Scottish applicants are required to complete a PVG Check.  Applicants from outside Scotland are required to provide an up-to-date Criminal Record Check at Enhanced level from their country of origin.

An interview forms part of the selection process and a PVG check will be conducted prior to final acceptance.
