Conference Details

The 11th ECONOS Conference , to be held in Aberdeen on 8-11 July 2012, is a continuation of annual meetings devoted to different issues in a rapidly expanding field of nonlinear optical spectroscopy. ECONOS has emerged in 2002 to widen the agendas of the former annual European CARS (Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Scattering) workshops (held since 1982) and to cover all forms of nonlinear optical spectroscopy, theoretical and experimental studies, and applications. Topics include, but are not limited to, Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy CARS, other forms of coherent Raman spectroscopy, Four-Wave Mixing and different third-(or higher)-order responses in the time and frequency domain and related techniques as well as to the physical and chemical processes defining the spectral signatures in different media. Contributions on applications in physics, chemistry, engineering, biomedical research, and other inter-disciplinary areas are particularly welcomed.

The 31st CARS workshop is a combination of the CARS workshops that were held since 1982 and similarly named initiaves under the EU-COST action MP0603 titled "Chemical imaging by means of CARS-microscopy (MicroCARS)". The main objective is to ascertain scientific exchange between European experts that have already significantly contributed or will participate in the further development and application of CARS microscopy and related technologies. Accordingly, the CARS workshop seeks to stimulate innovative, interdisciplinary and broad scientific collaborations in the emerging fields of coherent microscopy and nonlinear Raman spectroscopy.
