Updating your 2012 - 2013 course area

Important information about updating your 2012 - 2013 course area

Your courses will appear in the ‘2012 – 2013 Courses’ module on your Home page in MyAberdeen and have been created by copying the content from your 2011 – 2012 courses into your new course areas for 2012 - 2013.  No student specific information has been copied across e.g. discussion boards, grades or enrolments.

Please log in to MyAberdeen and check that your ‘2012 – 2013 Courses’ list is correct.  If any courses that you require access to are not listed please contact the eLearning Team by emailing elearning@abdn.ac.uk or calling ext 3765.

You will also need to check whether any content needs updating or deleting.  In particular you may need to edit the following:

  • Course Handbooks and other documents
  • TurnitinUK assignments (best to recreate these) and other online assignments or tests
  • Adaptive release settings
  • Grade Centre columns and their availability

Check the staff enrolments on your course:  The eLearning Team has endeavoured to give access to courses based on the information we have received from you.  In most cases we may only have been able to add the Course Coordinator.  Please check the staff members on your course, by going to the Control Panel and selecting Users and Groups, then Users to see the list of people who have access to your course.  You should  add any staff members that are missing.  To do this, go to the Control Panel (bottom left of your course area) select Course Tools, Add Staff then Add Users by Role.  You can then enter or search for their username and choose which role to give them.

Please let us know if there are any members of staff who should not have access to your course, so that we can remove them from your course.

If you have any staff teaching on your course who do not have a University of Aberdeen login, please contact us so we can give them access.
