Course Rollover

What is Course Rollover?

Course rollover involves creating 2012-13 versions of your courses (or programme areas) by copying content from the 2011-12 versions of your course. No student data is copied across, just content (this includes quizzes/tests). If a previous version of a 2012-13 course does not exist, a new course area will be created based on the appropriate School/discipline 'flexible' template.

When will Course Rollover take place?

Rollover started on the 30 July 2012 and finished on the 17 August 2012 (two weeks later than originally advertised). School of Education courses will be rolled over first, as their teaching starts towards the end of August.

How will I know when my course has been rolled over?

Staff will be notified through emails circulated around Schools/disciplines.

What will happen to the current Academic Year's course areas?

They will remain visible on the Home Page and Course Module area of MyAberdeen until after the resits have taken place and, in the case of taught postgraduate areas, until the end of September. Once the resit period has finished (17 August 2012) the courses/programme areas for 2011-12 will remain available to students and staff but will be moved to a different area in MyAberdeen to avoid confusion with course/programme areas for the new Academic Year.

When will the course/programme areas be archived?

All undergraduate course/programme areas will be archived after 6 July (after Graduation Week has finished) and all taught postgraduate course/programme areas will be archived after 1 October.
