Since its launch in May 1995, the DBC has completed forty-four research projects, and a further thirteen are currently in progress or forthcoming. Funds to support activities have been secured from seven main sources: the Chief Scientist Office of the Scottish Executive, the World Health Organisation, the NHS Executive, NHS R&D SDO, NHS Education Scotland, RARARI, the Health Education Authority, Grampian University Hospitals NHS Trust, the Department for International Development (DFID), and the European Commission.
