CALMAT: Computer-Assisted Learning Package for Maternal Health Indicators
The first phase of this World Health Organization funded project ran from June 2001 to January 2002 and drew upon the expertise of the Dugald Baird Centre and the Medi-CAL Unit of the University of Aberdeen.
The aim of the first phase was to devise and develop a prototype package running from CD illustrating how the selection, collection, use and interpretation of indicators for maternal health by policy-makers and programme managers could be assisted by this technique.
With the prototype package now developed, CALMAT will be moving towards a second phase. Discussions are underway to determine the priority and extent of the areas to be tackled.
To view the Phase 1 prototype version of CALMAT please click here. However please be aware that this is a demonstration version, developed by Professor Wendy Graham, Dr Colin Bullough and Mr Paul Graham to illustrate the potential of Computer Assisted Learning and should be regarded as a work in progress.
If you are developing CAL-based tools for safe motherhood or maternal health, we would be pleased to hear from you.
