William Johnstone

Professor of Hebrew and Semitic Languages

William Johnstone has taught in the School since 1962 and has been a
Professor of Hebrew and Semitic Languages since 1980. He has been a participant
in archaeological excavations with French and British teams in Jerusalem,
Syria, Cyprus and Sicily. He has also been a member of Secretary of State
for Scotland's working parties on 'O' and 'H' Grade in Religious Education.
His research interests include Old Testament interpretation and Near Eastern
archaeology.
