About the Department | Undergraduate Study | Postgraduate Study | Staff Directory | News & Events AcceptanceA form for you to accept/decline the place offered is included with your offer letter; on the other side is the form for you to guarantee finance. You can accept the place without completing the finance part of the form; or you can sign for self-financing even if you have applied for an award and do not yet know if you will be successful. There is currently no deadline for acceptance, but it assists us to know how many places are available for later applicants. There is no commitment to pay fees until you arrive at University and register. In order to receive your Certificate of Acceptance (which you will need if you are an international student, to apply for a student visa) you need to accept the place, guarantee finance and also satisfy any conditions of your offer – so you may need to send a final transcript, or an English certificate. Joining papers are sent by Admissions in early Summer; these include other information which you need before you come here. Student Recruitment has a website with guidelines for incoming postgraduates at www.abdn.ac.uk/sras/admissions - look at postgraduates and international students, as appropriate.
