Overseas Research Student Awards
The ORS Awards Scheme is a national scheme for international students from outside the European Union. The scheme is highly competitive, and awards are only made to students of exceptional calibre. Applications must be made through the University, either before the commencement of the research programme, or at the end of the first year. ORS awards are intended to cover the difference between overseas and home/EU student fees, and are typically worth around £4300 p.a. Applications must be supported by a student's main supervisor, and should not be submitted without prior consultation. Details are available from the Postgraduate Registry, and at: http://www.abdn.ac.uk/registry/sorsas.shtml AHRC Awards for Home StudentsThe Arts and Humanities Research Council currently offers two main studentship schemes for home students: Competition A, which provides awards for Master's courses, and Competition B, which provides awards of up to three years for a doctoral degree. Details are available from the Postgraduate Registry or at http://www.ahrc.ac.uk/about/programmesoverview/postgraduate_programme_overview.asp . The closing date for applications to be with the School for the 2007 competition is Friday 23rd March 2007. RB Hay of Seaton Ph.D. StudentshipThe Hay of Seaton Ph.D. Studentship is designed to foster a greater understanding of Judaism by Christians. The Studentship is looking for people who wish to research in any area relating to Judaism, anti-Semitism, or Jewish/Christian relations. The Studentship will be supervised by the Department of Divinity and Religious Studies at the University of Aberdeen. Applications for the RB Hay of Seaton PhD Studentship should be made in writing to Mr Doug High d.high@abdn.ac.uk along with an up-to-date CV. Applications are currently suspended until 2013/14 Dr R J Colley Bursary FundThe bursary is currently valued at £1,500 per annum, for a period of three years. Postgraduate students who have enrolled for a degree programme at the University of Aberdeen are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to students from Christian missionary families, or who may be a member of, or in sympathy with, a mainstream Christian Church. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they face financial difficulties or would not otherwise be able to participate in a course or venture associated with, or enhancing or augmenting their degree programme. Applicants must demonstrate academic potential.
