About the Department | Undergraduate Study | Postgraduate Study | Staff Directory | News & Events Applications for Admission to Postgraduate StudyApplications for all courses should be made on the appropriate form or online. Please see the guidance notes which accompany the applications process. For pre-application enquiries and post-application enquiries, contact: Postgraduate Secretary, School of Divinity, History & Philosophy, University of Aberdeen, King's College, Aberdeen, AB24 3UB, Scotland, UK (Telephone +44 (0)1224-272890; Fax +44 (0)1224-273750; E-mail: dhp-pgs@abdn.ac.uk). Applicants will require to furnish the University with transcripts of their previous academic study and also with the names of two academic referees; if candidates so desire, they may ask their referees to send in their recommendations directly to the University without waiting for a formal notice from the University. The School requires from students whose mother tongue is not English a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, or TOEFL score of 580 (computer-based TOEFL 237) with TWE 4.5, or equivalent as a condition of entry. Applications will not normally be processed until evidence of proficiency in English has been supplied. The University normally admits postgraduate applicants to particular subject areas rather than assigning them to particular supervisors in the first instance. It is not necessary that an applicant have a precise topic for research at the time of application, but it is necessary to choose a particular area of study. In all cases, intending applicants are strongly encouraged to supply details of their proposed area of research at the time of submitting their application form. On arrival in Aberdeen, all postgraduate students should register at the School office. This page was last modified on: Monday, 28-Jan-2013 09:53:29 GMT School of Divinity, History and
