2007 Scottish Journal of Theology Lectures‘Doctrine, World and Rights' Professor Oliver Davies Oliver Davies is Professor of Christian Doctrine at King's College London. He is author of A Theology of Compassion (2001) and The Creativity of God (2004), and is currently President of the Society for the Study of Theology. He is founding Director at King's of the recently established Humanities Research Centre for Religions, Theology and Public Life. In close collaboration with King's colleagues, his current work seeks to establish a new orientation in Systematic Theology towards 'world' as the spacio-temporal site of divine revelation and towards a properly scriptural Christology. Integral to this renewal is the turn towards a more dynamically theological engagement with issues of concern in public life, based on primary Christian doctrine, developed in dialogue with academic specialists and policy advisors. Monday–Thursday, 5–8 February, 1-2 p.m. Divinity Library, King's College, University of Aberdeen Further information on the lectures is available by contacting Dr Donald Wood on (01224) 272620 or at d.wood@abdn.ac.uk. |
