Email for research postgraduate students

The email and calendaring service for research postgraduate students is Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Web Access (OWA).

If you share a desktop PC with others, we recommend you use Outlook Web Access as your email client.

Outlook

Microsoft Outlook is a personal information management tool. It displays your email, contacts and calendar within one integrated product and, used in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange, it offers enhanced functions such as shared mailboxes, calendars, and public folders, and unified messaging for disseminating information.

Outlook Web Access (OWA)

OWA allows you to manage your university email and calendar remotely via a web browser from any location that provides internet access; this means you can keep in touch when you are off-campus. Offering most of the same functionality as Outlook, it looks very similar and lets you see the same email, calendaring, address books, etc. as you would when using Outlook on your desktop PC.
