Where do I find a PC?

For live updates of where there are unused PCs, check out our web pages:

When not booked for teaching, computer classrooms are open for you to use - but please do not enter while a class in is progress unless you have permission to do so. Displays located around the campus indicate when rooms are booked for teaching and when they are free. See Code of Conduct for use of Computer Classrooms for further information.

Study places are non-bookable and are available to students on a first-come, first-served basis.

All PCs have DVD-writers, and USB ports on the front of the system unit. Note that USB devices should only be inserted in the front ports PCs to avoid disturbing or damaging cabling at the rear.

Bookable Computer Classrooms

The Library

Bookable PC Classrooms are also available on Floor 2 of the University Library - classrooms 1, 2 and 3. When not being used for teaching purposes, the computers in these classrooms are open access and may be used for individual working. See the Library web pages for details www.abdn.ac.uk/library/facilities/computer/pc-clusters.

Enabling Access

All classroom PCs have assistive technology to help disabled users with issues such as visual impairment or dyslexia. See our Assistive Technology web pages for details - www.abdn.ac.uk/assistivetechnology/facilities/classroom-computers/.

Most classrooms include the provision of at least one height-adjustable desk.

In additon, there are 9 individual occupancy Assistive Technology Booths (ATBs) equipped with assistive technology and specialised equipment such as book scanners. See www.abdn.ac.uk/assistivetechnology/facilities/assistive-technology-booths/ for details and online booking.
