Outlook: E-mail & Calendaring

The University of Aberdeen has adopted Microsoft Outlook as the standard e-mail and calendaring package for all staff and research postgraduate students.

Microsoft Outlook is a personal information management tool. It displays your e-mail, contacts and calendar within one integrated product and, used in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange, it offers enhanced functions such as shared mailboxes, calendars, and public folders, and unified messaging for disseminating information.

See our dedicated Outlook web pages at www.abdn.ac.uk/outlook.

Outlook Web Access - OWA

Login to OWA

Outlook Web Access (OWA) allows you to access your university e-mail account remotely via a Web browser such as Internet Explorer. OWA offers most of the same functionality as Outlook, looks very similar, and lets you see the same e-mail, calendaring, address books, etc. as you would see when using Outlook on your office PC. This means you can keep in touch when you are off-campus – OWA can be used from Internet cafés and any other location that provides internet access.

For guidance on using OWA, see www.abdn.ac.uk/outlook/owa2007
