If all our telephone operators are busy, you will be put through to our voicemail system. Please leave a message, together with the following information:

  • your full name
  • contact telephone number
  • a brief description of your enquiry

We will log your call and get back to you as soon as possible.

Out-of-hours

The Out-of-hours helpline operates from 17:00 to 08:00 weekdays and provides 24 hour cover over weekends and public holidays. During these times, any call you make to our Service Desk number is automatically transferred to the OOH Helpline.

  • Full name
  • Computing username
  • Matriculation number (essential for student enquiries)
  • Contact telephone number
  • Alternative email address (if relevant)
  • Current location (Building and room number)
  • Department
  • Computer Make, Model
  • Operating System, Network Address & DNS Name. Check here (campus only)
  • Classroom PC's - room number, workstation number
  • Any error messages
  • A clear description of the problem or query

All logged calls are assigned a unique call reference number.

If you receive an email from us with a call reference number please remember to quote this in any response; this will assist us in dealing with your call as quickly as possible.

    • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and  Friday: 09:00-17:00
    • Wednesday: 10:30-17:00
  • The Sir Duncan Rice Library, Information Centre
    • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and  Friday: 10:00-16:00
    • Wednesday: 13:00-16:00

Foresterhill

  • Polwarth Building, Room 1:122
    • Monday to Wednesday and Friday: 09:00-17:00
    • Thursday: 09:00-16:00
