Stewart is a consultant nephrologist in Raigmore, with an interest in haemodialysis research. He originally trained in Edinburgh before moving to the Midlands for his registrar training and research, where he worked in clinical medicine in Nottingham and did 3 years of research in the burgeoning renal research unit in Derby City General Hospital with Chris McIntyre. Stewart's studies focused on the use of continuous biochemical and haemodynamic monitoring of haemodialysis. He returned to Scotland in 2005, taking up a post to become the second nephrologist in Inverness. Stewart is keen to see clinical research develop in the renal unit and our first clinical trial is about to start.
