Steve Leslie is an interventional cardiologist with a PhD in cardiovascular pharmacology. He graduated MBChB from Edinburgh University in 1994. He currently holds a full time clinical post at the Cardiac Unit, Raigmore Hospital, where he is also lead clinician for the Nurse-led Heart Failure Service in Highland. He joined the Centre for Rural Health in November 2006 as an Honorary Senior Lecturer.
His main research area is the equitable and efficient delivery of care to cardiac patients, in particular, percutaneous coronary intervention and chronic heart failure. He also has an interest in teaching with cardiac patient simulators. He maintains an active role in basic science research and is currently in collaboration with the Department of Diabetes, UHI Millennium Institute.
Steve has published over 30 original papers and several reviews.
