Biography
Clare graduated with a BA (Hons) in Social Science with the UHI Millennium Institute and achieved a First Class. After graduating, Clare was awarded a studentship through the UHI Millennium Institute and has now been enrolled at the Centre for Rural Health to complete her PhD studies.
Clare's research will explore community-based mental health services in both the Highlands of Scotland and Canada. The aim is to ascertain whether current service provision is adequate for service-users and whether it helps to facilitate social inclusion for those living in remote and rural areas.
Research Interests
Clare is interested in the processes involved in social inclusion; with a particular emphasis on the rights of the individual. Clare also has a keen interest in issues relating to mental health.
Teaching Responsibilities
Associate Lecturer in Social Science with the Open University.
