The College offers a number of postgraduate programmes designed to meet the demands of practising professionals. Our part-time Master's programmes can also be taken on a CPD basis.

The Master of Science in Project Management has been designed to meet the requirements of practicing professionals and is taught in a flexible manner. It is offered on a part time basis, teaching being at weekends (every 3rd weekend) or by distance learning. The courses are completely modular in structure and have been carefully developed to articulate to each other to provide a variety of levels of provision, suiting the needs of the participants.

The Master of Science degree in Informatics: Software Project Management is designed to engage across industry borders, teaching and exploring project management skills and issues equally applicable to students who come from a wide range of ICT-intensive backgrounds. While there are a wide number of technical courses focusing on ICT available worldwide, we have introduced one of the few programmes specifically focusing on the different aspects of software project management.

The teaching philosophy behind the Master of Science in Hydrocarbon Exploration is for the trainees to learn how to explore for hydrocarbons by actively exploring in an immersive team environment. Active exploration will be backed up with short courses, lectures, tutorials and exploration exercises. For those students wishing to study for 9 months only without an individual project, a Postgraduate Diploma in Hydrocarbon Exploration may be awarded.

The Master of Science degree in Oil & Gas Structural Engineering has been developed jointly with Industry in response to a clear need for an effective means of transferring knowledge and skills from senior experts in Industry and the University to the new generation of Structural Engineers. The programme is aimed at practising Structural Engineers and so to enable such Engineers to remain in their employment the degree is only available as a Part-Time programme and is taught entirely via the University's online virtual learning environment (MyAberdeen).
