Students (and dependants over the age of 16) from certain countries are required to register with the police within 7 days of their arrival. If you fall into this category, the requirement to register will be shown on your visa sticker or immigration stamp. Although you are required to register within 7 days of your arrival, this is not important if you are able to register at one of the sessions arranged at the University.
If you cannot attend a registration session at the University, you need to make an appointment with the Nationality Department at Grampian Police Headquarters in Aberdeen city centre. You can do this either by telephoning 01224 306105 or by e-mailing NationalityOffice@grampian.pnn.police.uk. You will need: your passport, one recent passport-sized photograph, your student ID card or Certificate of Acceptance from the University, confirmation of your address in Aberdeen (tenancy agreement, accommodation contract or invoice/bill with your address on) and a registration fee.
