Rihards Johansons, a Level 2 Geography student from Latvia and a Research Assistant on the Living North Sea Project sadly passed away very suddenly on the 7th January 2012.
He started work on the Living North Sea (LNS) project last year providing GIS and WebGIS support as well as assisting in the making of a short video on Adaptation to Climate Change as part of the IMCORE project.
In October 2011 he participated in the OURCOAST conference in Riga, Latvia with David R. Green. He also contributed to the Living North Sea Fish Migration Day in Aberdeen, and was scheduled to travel to the AAG 2012 conference in New York, USA as a co-author in a paper on the LNS project.
Rihards will be very sadly missed by all of the LNS and IMCORE team, as well as his fellow students in Geography and Environment.
