Physics

Following the foundation of Kings College at Aberdeen in 1495, Physics was among the subjects first taught here. In Aberdeen our physicists are to be found in multidisciplinary research groups embracing medical physics, materials physics, environmental physics and solid state physics rather than clustered together in one building. Staff are typically located in centres devoted to broad areas of science and engineering where physics is only a small part. What this means is that physicists at Aberdeen are accustomed to working with people in other disciplines, just as happens to physicists almost anywhere.
