Teaching Fellows Events

The University is committed to providing dedicated support for Teaching Fellows from across the University. An annual, invitation-only event for Teaching Fellows from across the University has been held since 2008, celebrating the important work that Teaching Fellows contribute to the University. Annual Learning & Teaching Event for University Teaching Fellows 2012: Developing and Supporting Teaching Fellows

This invitation-only event was organised by the Centre for Learning & Teaching, on behalf of the University of Aberdeen)  and provided an opportunity for Teaching Fellows from across the institution to come together and share ideas and experiences while also considering ways in which Teaching Fellows could continue to develop professionally.  

This year's event was held on Thursday January 12th 2012 and was attended by around 40 members of staff.

Annual Learning & Teaching Event for University Teaching Fellows 2011: Responding to Student Needs

This invitation-only event was organised by the Centre for Learning & Teaching and took the form of a keynote speech from Dr Margaret Harris, Project facilitator: Responding to Student Needs (Graduates for the 21st Century). This was followed by parallel sessions aimed at highlighting activities being led by Teaching Fellows across the University of Aberdeen.

This year's event was held on Thursday May 19th 2011 and was attended by around 40 members of staff.

  • "I really enjoyed the good practice showcase, which gave us all the opportunity for networking and sharing best practice across the many Schools that were represented"
  • "The group discussions were an excellent opportunity to discuss quality skills development for graduates from all subject areas"

Annual Learning & Teaching Event for University Teaching Fellows 2009: Technology in Learning & Teaching

Over 70 Teaching Fellows attended the 2009 event, which was focussed on the use of technology to support teaching.  The guest speaker was Andy Black from the British Educational Communication Technology Association (BECTA).

Annual Learning & Teaching Event for University Teaching Fellows 2008: Raising Awareness of the HEA and the Subject Centres

Over 70 Teaching Fellows attended the 2008 event, which was focussed on raising participants' awareness of the work of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and its 24 Subject Centres.  The guest speaker was Professor Kevan Gartland from Glasgow Caledonian University.
