The University of Aberdeen Alumni Discount Scheme

The University of Aberdeen offers a 20% discount in postgraduate tuition fees for alumni who have graduated from the University of Aberdeen. The Alumni Discount Scheme applies to both home and overseas students. It applies to the self-funded element of the postgraduate tuition fee, which is the element of tuition fee that you are paying yourself, and does not cover the element of tuition fee which is paid by a studentship, funding body, your employer, a company or any another source of funding. The Alumni Discount applies only to the tuition fee element and not to any other costs such as additional programme costs or research costs. Further details and the application form are available here.

Graduate School Bursaries

Bursaries (or scholarships) are available for entry in September 2010 for EU and UK applicants. The bursaries are for fees for one year of study for our MSc (taught) programmes. Typically, these awards are in the region of £1,000. Competition is fierce, but applications from outstanding students are encouraged

Download an application form (Word), complete it and return it by email (graduateschool-clsm@abdn.ac.uk) or post to the Graduate School.

To be considered for a bursary, you will need to have applied to the University of Aberdeen for a place starting in September 2010; to be awarded a bursary, you must receive and then firmly accept an offer, either conditional or unconditional, of a place at the university. University of Aberdeen bursaries can only be held by students of the university – they cannot be transferred to other institutions. Only students from the EU and UK are eligible.

You will be told whether or not your application has been successful by email or post at the correspondence address on your application form by 10 September 2010. If your application has been successful the award will be subject to your admission to the university.
