Health Services and Public Health Research (MSc/PGDip)

Introduction

Our students come to study health services and public health research from all over the world - normally this programme has about 70% international students which encourages sharing of ideas and cultures, future and current collaboration and broadening of horizons. The aim of this degree programme is to equip students with the knowledge and skills in the field of health services and public health and provide broad-based training in conducting and using different research methods, by combining teaching and research in the curriculum. This is not a course in public health medicine.

According to their academic needs, individual students may register for an MSc, Diploma or Certificate in Health Services and Public Health Research. All three options require completion of the taught curriculum between September and January. Students who complete the taught curriculum are eligible for a Certificate in Health Services and Public Health Research. Those students who finish only parts of the taught curriculum are provided with a Certificate of Completion for individual courses. Students who complete a three month research thesis will be eligible for a Diploma. Award of an MSc requires completion of a six-month research dissertation.
