Carnegie Cameron Postgraduate Bursaries

These bursaries are funded by the Carnegie Cameron Trust and are for students undertaking a twelve month taught postgraduate programme, ie MSc.

The bursaries are to go towards the payment of tuition fees only and can cover fees up to the value of £3,750. For example, if tuition fees for the programme are £3,400, the amount left over from that (ie £350) cannot be claimed or used by the student.

Deadline: 27 July 2012

To be eligible to apply for support you must have been accepted to study a one-year taught postgraduate degree programme at the University of Aberdeen.  Students undertaking pre-doctoral courses or postgraduate diploma or certificate courses cannot be funded under this scheme.  Bursaries can be awarded to students undertaking a one-year programme on a part-time basis over two consecutive years.

Applicants must be Scottish by birth or descent (at least one parent born in Scotland) or have been continuously resident in Scotland for a period of at least three years for the purpose of secondary or tertiary education in Scotland.  Residence in Scotland for any other purpose does not make an applicant eligible.  Vacations, periods of absence through illness and periods spent outside Scotland as part of a Scottish educational course shall not be taken into account in determining whether the residence has been continuous.

Criteria

Decisions are taken on the basis of academic merit.

Application Procedure

Students must complete an application form and submit directly to the College in which the programme they will be taking is based.  Details of where to send completed applications can be found on the application form.

Successful applicants are selected by the Colleges.
