The Chaplaincy Centre lies at the heart of the University, nestled on the High Street, always welcoming both staff and students, regardless of their needs. We endeavour to keep our doors always open to assist the hurting, enable the hesitant and challenge the faithful. Our aim is to welcome, befriend, support and grow our community be it with coffees, donuts, discussion groups or prayer gatherings. No one should ever feel excluded or be denied access to our care and support. As well as conducting worship services in King's College Chapel the chaplaincy encourages the University's many cultural socieites and diverse faith congregations in our community. We actively encourage inter faith activity and dialogue too.
However, offering such a broad and open welcome has its challenges. Over the last 30 years, student numbers at the University of Aberdeen have more than doubled while the number of Chaplaincy staff has remained fixed and our home on the High Street has undergone only cosmetic improvements. We desperately need to take a new approach in order to extend our reach and keep pace with the growing number of students and their varied needs and calls for help.
Can you help us?
We would truly welcome any donation, large or small, to assist us with the ever-increasing demands of welcoming, caring and supporting an increasingly multi-faith and multi-cultural student population. The link below will display a form that can be used to make secure single or regular gifts to the Chaplaincy.
Support the Chaplaincy Centre here
Do we have a clear aim in mind? Our vision is to extend our reach, whether this means expanding our buildings or branching out in other ways. As you'd imagine, every penny will count in our quest to meet the needs of the growing University population. You can be assured that whatever you can give will be put to the best possible use.
Thank you in advance for supporting the Chaplaincy Centre.
From all the Chaplaincy Centre staff.
