Multi-Faith Chaplaincy

Multi-Faith Chaplaincy

The University of Aberdeen warmly welcomes students and staff from many diverse nations, cultures, faiths, and beliefs. This diversity enriches our whole community, making Aberdeen a great, globally minded place to study and work.

We provide a multi-cultural and supportive environment, so whoever you are and wherever you come from, you will always be welcome. The services and resources of the Chaplaincy are available to all students and staff - we welcome those from all faiths and none.

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy is, at its very heart, a place of pastoral care. Chaplains provide not only a welcome but support and advice to members of the community in times of stress, crisis, bereavement, or illness. We are also here for those simply wanting to explore questions of a personal or confidential nature. The Chaplaincy actively works to develop and organise inter-faith dialogues and community celebrations, building community through various events.

We always have Fairtrade tea and coffee available for you to enjoy, free of charge! Whether you’re looking for a place to relax between lectures, meet with friends, or join society events, we’re here for you.

If you have something specific that you would like to talk with a chaplain about, or would prefer to make an appointment, please feel free to do so either over the phone or email, but know that this is not a requirement.

Support the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy

How to support us?

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy plays a vital role at the University of Aberdeen in supporting both students and staff throughout their time with us. We aim to develop academic, social and spiritual aspects of higher education in members of our community while also providing support for those who may be struggling with life events, studies, unexpected losses or conflicts, relationships or are simply trying to fit everything together.

We provide a range of services to the University community, from one-on-one support and a listening ear, to events and activities for students to connect with others, relax and unwind. We are here for everyone as an oasis on campus for all.

Our Multi-Faith Chaplaincy welcomes a great deal of students and student societies and groups each week. Unfortunately, our building is showing its age. If you would like to donate and help us welcome, care and support an ever growing and evolving multi-cultural and multi-faith campus population, we would greatly appreciate your support.

Please follow this link to donate. On the form, in the drop-down menu please choose ‘other’ and then write in ‘Chaplaincy'.
