Biography

I have been at the University of Aberdeen since 1985, and am currently a Senior Lecturer in French in the School of Language and Literature.

My research interests focus on medieval French language and literature, particularly Anglo-Norman, and the historical development of the language.  I have worked particularly on thirteenth-century vulgarizing theological texts and religious works written in the vernacular.
