Minutes of CASS Graduate School Committee
The remit of the Graduate School is as follows:
- To initiate and maintain developments in teaching, research training and progression criteria for postgraduate students across the College of Arts and Social Sciences.
- To ensure efficiency and excellence in teaching, training and supervision of postgraduate students.
- To ensure implementation of RC Joint Skills Statement, SHEFC Threshold Standards and Quality Assessment Agency (QAA) Revised Code of Practice on Research Degree Programmes for generic skills training and career development of postgraduate students.
- To provide a forum for information exchange and knowledge transfer across the University/Colleges/Schools with local Institutes.
- To disseminate good practice.
The composition of the Graduate School Committee is as follows:
- Director of the Graduate School
- College Director of Teaching and Learning (ex officio)
- Deputy College Registrar
- One member of academic staff from each School
- The Director of the Research Institute for Irish and Scottish Studies
- Postgraduate Secretary from the Graduate Business School and the School of Law
- Representative from the Students' Association
