Investigating Educational Issues Through Secondary Data Analysis
Project
The School of Education in the University of Aberdeen is inviting high quality students to apply for PhD studentships to conduct research which will address specific educational issues through secondary data analysis. Areas of research will include early childhood education and development, educational achievement, and transitions into education and employment. The studies will be carried out from a longitudinal perspective, and will involve exploration of research synthesis approaches such as systematic review or meta-analysis.
Applicants must normally hold or be expected to obtain, a First Class, a high Upper Second Class Honours, or Masters degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or other relevant cognate discipline. Candidates with other degrees but with relevant experiences may be considered.
Awards
In this inaugural year of the project 2013/14, we invite applications for 2 PhD studentships from high achieving students to join us in pursuing rigorous disciplinary and/or interdisciplinary research into these questions.
