Comparative Statecraft and Constitutional Thought
Project
Projects will research the development, history and form of non-Western frameworks of legitimate governance, both in principle and practice. This will include: (i) the development of indigenous constitutional documents and frameworks; (ii) the historical and ethnographic study of systematised modes of statecraft; and (iii) the intellectual genealogy and writings of non-western constitutional thinkers.
Awards
In this inaugural year of the project 2013/14, we invite applications for 4 PhD studentships from high achieving students to join us in pursuing rigorous disciplinary and/or interdisciplinary research into these questions.

A normal application for admission to the PhD programme is required and applicants should make explicit note their interest in being considered for a 'Comparative Statecraft and Constitutional Thought Studentship' in their application materials.
