SORSAS Awards
The deadline for applying for a SORSAS award for study commencing in 2010-11 has now passed.
The Scottish Overseas Research Students Award Scheme (SORSAS) provides funding to pay the difference between the international student tuition fees and the Home/EU student tuition fees charged by the academic institution that the student attends. SORSAS awards do not cover the Home/EU fee element, maintenance or travel expenses.
The University of Aberdeen receives an annual grant to fund SORSAS and select their SORSAS award holders internally. The College of Arts and Social Sciences undertakes to cover the Home/EU element of the fees for all holders of a SORSAS award. Overseas students who have already been offered a Home fees award from any source are permitted to hold a SORSAS award in conjunction with that, in order to cover their full fee amount. For more information on the conditions applicable to holding multiple awards, please look at the Frequently Asked Questions.
Please remember that SORSAS awards are intended for students of full-time postgraduate research study only, and not for those undertaking undergraduate or taught postgraduate study.
For more information, please visit the University's SORSAS web page. The contact person at the University for questions about SORSAS is Robert Findlay in the Registry.
