Research Postgraduates
All postgraduate research students who have been offered a place (conditional or unconditional) to study within the College of Arts and Social Sciences in 2012-13 will automatically be considered for funding in any of the following areas for which they are eligible:
If more information is required from you, someone from the Graduate School will contact you. Students who have deferred their start for a year should contact the Graduate School for more information.
Applicants are strongly advised to contact a potential supervisor before submitting their application and research proposal.
If you already know that you wish to be considered for a specific Research Project award and / or AHRC Studentship, please make this explicit on your application form.
Students will be informed of the outcome of their application by the end of July 2012 at the latest, and are requested to refrain from inquiring about the status of their application until August 2012.
Taught Postgraduates
Taught postgraduates who have been offered a place (conditional or unconditional) to study within the College of Arts and Social Sciences will be considered for funding if recommended to the College by their School, in any of the following areas for which they are eligible:
The College will not contact taught postgraduate applicants unless they are successful in obtaining funding, and therefore applicants who have heard nothing by the end of July 2012 may assume that they have been unsuccessful. Students are requested to refrain from inquiring about the status of their application until August 2012.
