Improving English
Learning English from books and the media does not always prepare you for using English on a day to day basis. Indeed, at the University of Aberdeen you will hear a variety of accents. These accents may be difficult to understand at first but as with any skill, the more you do it; the more you improve. Listening to lectures, participating in class and completing writing assignments in English may also be challenging. The University Language Centre offers opportunities to develop the language skills and the cultural orientation you need to be successful in your academic work.
