Postgraduate students should register using the automatic program in all the computing classrooms:

Registering in a classroom

• Register with the University and collect your student ID card
• Go to a PC in a computer classroom
• Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to see the log-on prompt
• In the User Name field, type register
• Leave the Password box empty
• Click OK

The registration program is activated. Follow the on-screen instructions. The program will check your student ID, give you a username and let you choose a password. You cannot log on immediately after registration as the details are processed overnight. By the following morning, your username should be ready for you to use on the PCs in the computer classrooms and public areas. If you used this username last academic year, any files you created before the summer will still be there.
