Other UG Degrees

 Bachelor of Laws (LLB)

  • First step to a career in the legal profession, though more than a third of students use the LLB as a passport to a range of alternative careers.
  • LLB degree is based on three years of study; the LLB (Honours) degree is based on four years of study.

 Bachelor of Divinity (BD)

  • Designed for students who want specialised and comprehensive study of the Christian tradition.  
  • Non-Honours degree of BD normally takes three years and the BD Honours degree normally takes four years.

 Bachelor of Theology (BTh)

  • More flexible than the BD and provides greater opportunities to take courses in Religious Studies and to combine the study of theology and religion with other subjects.
  • Particularly suited to those considering teaching Religious and Moral Education in secondary schools.

 Bachelor of Education (BEd) Primary

  • The BEd is a qualification to teach children in the 3–12 age range and is accredited by the General Teaching Council for Scotland
  • Combines academic study with practical inquiry in a variety of school settings and their communities.

 Bachelor of Music (BMus)

  • Flexible 2+2 format.
  • First two years of core study focus on performance, composition, musicianship and music history.
  • Two choices for years 3 and 4 - BMus Honours is a music degree while the BMus Honours (Education) leads to a qualification to teach music in secondary schools.
