Want to chat to a Careers Adviser online?

If you would like to schedule a time to chat in our online chat room please get in touch with Tracey Innes to find out more and arrange.

Should I use the virtual services or come into the Careers Service?

These services are designed to complement the face-to-face services we offer at the Hub (drop-in service and guidance appointments), not to replace them.  If you're not sure if you need to come in, then refer to our Advice & Guidance page for more information.  If you're still not sure then submit your query by email and we can point you in the direction of the most suitable services for you.  Ultimately, this service is being offered to make the Careers Service more accessible and convenient, so the choice of how you access our services is entirely yours.

What can I expect from the Careers Service?

We aim to respond to your enquiry within 3 working days.  If you need a quicker response then please use our bookable quick query appointment system

As with all of our services, our mission is to provide our students and graduates with the highest quality careers information, advice and guidance.  Our services aim to be non-discriminatory, impartial and accessible to all students and graduates of the University of Aberdeen.

This enquiry system offers you the opportunity for a 'virtual conversation' with a Careers Adviser.  We may ask you to provide more information in our first response to you to ensure that we understand your enquiry correctly.

Feedback on your applications will be given within the Word document you have submitted using the Word tracking tool.  In some cases we may refer you to examples of good practice and ask you to do more work before we give you full feedback on your CV or application.  If you have a closing date fast approaching, then use our bookable quick query service to get instant feedback.  Additional facilities to get 'livetime' feedback on your CV and applications by scheduling an online meeting using MyAberdeen is currently being developed.  If you're interested in taking part in a trial, please email Tracey Innes for more details.
