The Difference

Help us to Make "The Difference"
Be a Part of the Aberdeen Placement Experience

Over the past three years, the University of Aberdeen has undertaken a wide-ranging and comprehensive review of the structure, content, delivery and flexibility of its degrees under the banner of "The Difference".  As part of this reformed curriculum, launched to students in 2010, I am writing to invite you to contribute to our enhanced and extended work placement programme during 2011.  Our newly established Work Placement Team within the Careers Service is dedicated to providing the interface between business and the University to manage the placement process.  We are interested in placement opportunities you may be able to offer including internships, summer and year long placements.  These will be targeted at high calibre students from a diverse range of disciplines across the University.  The new 'Employers' Guide' explains in more depth how placements will be managed.

Within our reformed curriculum an increasing emphasis is being placed upon an extended portfolio of co-curricular opportunities.  Work placements are one key aspect of this development, one in which we are already experiencing an increased student demand.  In addition our aim is to enhance our student learning experience by providing opportunities for students to achieve our newly developed Aberdeen–specific Graduate Attributes.  Further details of our Curriculum Reform project can be found in the article from the November 2010 issue of the AGR Graduate Recruiter

If you would like to discuss any issue related to work placements further, then please contact the Work Placement Team or phone 01224 273601.

I look forward to working in partnership with you to further enhance the employability and future employment prospects of our students.
