Work Placements

Welcome to Work Placements!
The Careers Service has a dedicated Work Placement Team which supports work placement opportunities.
Information about the Aberdeen Internship is available here.
Employers like to see all sorts of work experience gained throughout your time at University, be it bar work (ability to work under pressure, business awareness), supermarket work (developing strong customer care skills) or a formal work placement in a company (developing business awareness and undertaking project work). For more information on the range of work experience opportunities that are available, have a look at the work experience page.
A formal work placement will develop key employment skills and is valued by employers as it showcases your skills and can set you apart from other applicants.
Exclusive Placements
The Work Placement Team sources paid placement opportunities for students from the University of Aberdeen. These Exclusive@Aberdeen placements generally run during the summer vacation period, and are mainly for students about to enter their final year of undergraduate study, and include the Aberdeen Internship.
The placements are competitively awarded, highly regarded by employers, and application is usually through CV and covering letter.
Students are supported during the recruitment process and throughout the placement. Employers providing exclusive placements are required to confirm that students will be covered by their employee liability insurance, and provide appropriate health and safety induction to the student.
