What is BP Student Tutoring Scheme?
The BP Student Tutoring Scheme provides you with the opportunity to tutor pupils, on a voluntary basis, in a local city or shire school for one morning or one afternoon per week for a period of eight weeks.
During the Scheme you assist the classroom teacher and can be involved in one-on-one support or group work with pupils. Activities vary depending on the placement and the needs of the classroom teacher.
What are the benefits of the Scheme?
Students who have participated in the BP Student Tutoring Scheme indicate many benefits from getting involved, including improving their CV, and gaining work experience. Feedback from previous partcipants also indicates that students improved their confidence, developed their ability to work in a team and enhanced their skills in communication, presentation and time management. All of these skills are useful for any future career and provide you with an opportunity to develop Aberdeen Graduate Attributes.
Student tutoring is not formally assessed but every tutor is awarded a Certificate of Participation at the BP hosted Awards Ceremony.
